Subjective statement I am unwilling to debate.īoth games have 1 top endgame raid at all times, so both games have the same amount to do in that department. If your combat has room for minutes long rotations it's naturally more sluggish than a game built around rotations that cycle every few seconds.įF14 also has better and more unique (gameplay) classes. Second, more abilities doesn't mean faster combat, in fact, the exact opposite is true. They did this during beta for BfA but then slowly scaled it back until only a few abilities were a part of it as a form of litmus test to see what abilities should and shouldn't be in one. First of all, no, they did not make most abilities use global cooldown. Originally posted by la_nague:ff14 is not slower, in endgame ff14 has the faster combat especially since wow made most abilities use global cooldown. FFXIV does have a "weeb" feel to it, but it's easily ignored if you want to, as the artwork is somewhere between "anime" and "beautiful water painting by Yoshitaka Amano". I do a lot of hopping myself to maintain steam. You have a MASSIVE game to explore that you haven't touched yet and it's a good way to refill the steam engines for WoW later on. Personally I checked out for half of Stormblood due to the real problem that SE has with not releasing enough content per patch, whereas WoW has to stagger content by week to not overwhelm players and has it's first major patch announeced one month into this expansion release. I wouldn't call one better than the other as that's subjective and up to your taste in gaming. I tried to put a positive spin on what I could in both places. Game discourages alts, making it possible to do everything on one character. A Rich and Immersive Story (though like many FF Games, takes a while to get there). Less to do Overall (Busywork can literally devolve into minigames) Much more fluff, more story and dialogue to get into. ![]() ![]() Game highly encourages alts due to both class structure and a split faction based storyline. More in one than the other, but that was embarrassing enough to say:
